New Leather Jackets from AGV Sports

Great Feature on Our Topanga Perforated Leather Jacket

Ladies Moda Leather Jacket Review

Motorcycle USA has done it again as they are raving about the AGV Sport Moda Ladies Perforated Leather Jacket.  AGVSPORT Group, a company designed by riders for riders, is proud to produce apparel for the female rider.  With an understanding about the female psyche, the Moda Ladies Perforated Leather Jacket is the perfect riding jacket for any woman.

A review done by MotorcycleUSA.com reveals that the Moda Ladies Perforated Leather Jacket, “has attractive, feminine styling without being over-the-top girlie.”  The jacket allows for a sense of femininity without sacrificing the avid sport bike rider image.  AGVSPORT has stayed true to their core values of designing high quality apparel with innovative features for today’s riders.  With technology at a boom AGVSPORT has the perfect compartments to safely house these valuable electronics and everyday concerns without compromising mobility and safety.

The review states that the jacket features pockets perfect for storing a mobile phone or iPod and even features a, “…little tab in the liner that holds [the] earphone wiring in place.”  And with the arms of the jacket already pre-curved for easy break-in and comfort, what better jacket could there be for the female rider?  Every little female pet-peeve has been already been addressed in this jacket.  There is even a pocket on the inside of the jacket perfect for a pair or sunglasses, the perfect location to place them after an exhilarating ride!  AGVSPORT has thought of everything in the design of this jacket, including padding in the shoulders, back and elbows for ultimate security.  I think every woman can agree that there is no greater feeling than ultimate security, especially when riding on the highway. The Moda Ladies Perforated Lather Jackets is the ultimate woman’s motorcycle jacket.

AGVSPORT Group would like to once again thank MotorcycleUSA.com for their kind words in reviewing this fine piece of women’s riding apparel.

Motorcycle Crashes and Protective Gear Go Hand in Hand

We all know that riding can be dangerous, and that wearing the right clothing and gear is what is needed to be safe. Whether you are on the road or on the track you always have to take into consideration that a crash could occur at any time. Better to be safe than sorry right?

Well, according to the report entitled: The Injury Reduction Benefits of Motorcycle Protective Clothing, injured riders who had been wearing leather gear spent on average 7 days or less in the hospital and returned to work only 20 days earlier than unprotected riders. “It’s concluded that protective clothing can prevent or reduce 43% of injuries to soft tissue, and 63% of deep and extensive injuries.”  The report which was written by Liz de Rome can be viewed here:

The Injury Reduction Benefits of Motorcycle Protective Clothing

When looking for a ‘one-piece racing suit,’ you should include the following in your checklist:

  • premium top-grain leather
  • CE approved armor
  • extra padding
  • Kevlar fabric

Not many people know this, but being comfortable whilst your riding increases your level of concentration. If you are riding on a hot summer day the last thing you want is to overheat, and become ridiculously sweaty. Especially, if you feel like you are going to suffocate, chances are that you will be disoriented and you won’t be focusing on the road or the track the way you should be.  Therefore, it’s all very good to have that extra thick padding to protect your chest and tail bone areas, but you also want to make sure that areas such as your chest, stomach, and upper legs are perforated for maximum ventilation.

The AGVSPORT Monza, one-piece racing suit, is an example of this.

MCN and RiDE are two magazine companies who have carried out product tests that review which motorcycle brands score the highest when it comes to abrasion, burst, and impact protection, zipper and road testing, and prices.

The RiDE News Magazines: “Product Test” gave AGV Sport an overall 46/60 which had the highest point-value compared to other brands such as Spyke, and Alpinestars.  In particular, the AGV Sport suit scored a perfect 10 in the abrasion protection test and 8 out of 10 in the impact protection test.

MCN had also released test results regarding Hip Bursts, Elbow Bursts, Knee Abrasion, Shoulder Abrasion, and the overall score.  AGV Sport came first place in all areas.

If you click on this link http://www.agvsport.com/2007/index2.html and then select the tab: “Racer Support” the MCN and RiDE links are situated on the right-hand side under “Look at tests performed by:”

As they say, safety first, safety always!

Product improvements for 2010 – AGVSPORT Leather suits and Leather Jackets

2010 is a milestone year for the AGVSPORT products. Designed by riders, for riders, the new product line launched this year is yet another step forward in improving the features of our brand’s products in terms of safety, resistance, comfort and style. The full line can be seen here.

Laguna One-Piece Suit

The number one priority for motorcycle apparel is safety. This year, all AGVSPORT suits are equipped with CE approved dual-density knee, shoulder and elbow protectors. On the left is a picture of our new top end Laguna one piece road race suit.

A good example of improvement in design for 2010 is the Dragon Leather jacket that has from 1.2mm (body) to 1.4mm (impact areas) premium leather construction for optimum protection, durability and comfort. This extra protection is provided by all the leather jackets.

Abrasion Resistance:

We increased resistance by using multiple stitched main seam construction and extra padding in all critical areas of the body for better tear resistance and use more reflective AGVSPORT logos instead of 3M Scotchlite™ trim, to combine safety and style. Additionally, YKK zippers are now used on all suits and jackets.

Topanga Leather Jacket

Comfort and style:

We added a special feature, in the crotch and under the arms, that weighs less than leather but provides as much resistance:  Teramid Kevlar fabric.

All jackets feature moisture wicking neoprene in the collar for maximum rider comfort. Pre-curved arms for a perfect look, fit and for maximum riding comfort.

We also adjusted the lines of our suits for a better fit by using pleated leather panels in multiple locations of the body.

Function:

Function is never sacrificed for aesthetics. We added more ventilation on the warm-weather gears. The 2010 suits and jackets provide maximum cooling on hot race days with perforated chest, belly, upper legs, front of lower legs and front of upper arms.

We have also put two waist connection zippers at the bottom of the jackets so that you can attach it to your pants.
